Pyroll has appointed a new group CEO Mika Lankila (M.Sc., Industrial Engineering and Management). Previous group CEO the founder of the Pyroll, Mr Reino Uusitalo, will continue as a Chairman of the Board. “Mika has been involved in various industries and situations and brings new drive for Pyroll’s operations and development with his own expertise and style”, says Mr Uusitalo.
Mika Lankila, 38, latest position was Chief Financial Officer and Business Development Director of Loomis Value Solutions Oy. Previously, Mr Lankila has worked for example as a management consultant and as a Board member and Chairman in the cyber security industry. He specializes in business development and has acted as an advisor to various companies. Lankila has also worked for Pyroll as a member of the Board in 2015 – 2017 and has been actively involved in various companies of the Uusitalo family since 2009.
“I am privileged to be qualified to run this Finnish family-owned company with long history. Pyroll of course is relatively familiar to me, because I’ve been working in the background for years in Pyroll as well as in other companies of Uusitalo family. So after a couple of years break I am basically returning to my old job but in a new role”, Lankila says.
The main task for Mr Lankila is to support Pyroll’s business management. The Pyroll Group has three independent industries and Mika will work closely with the CEOs. Pyroll Converting is led by Mr Ilkka Haitti, Pyroll Packaging is carried forward by Mr Mikael Svennas and Pyroll Paper is led by Mr Vesa Välimaa.
“My main job is to support and challenge the leadership of these businesses by also bringing the owners’ perspective into the game. The three independent business areas of the Pyroll Group are at different stages and provide the foundation for further development work. There are no magic tricks in business: clear targets, good team and long-term work are all required. The good result will then follow. I am convinced that we do close cooperation with our customers and grow with them. Enabling this and supporting positive development is the CEO’s most important task”, says Mika Lankila.
